Blue CroadTHE BLUE CROAD LANGSHAN DEBATE.

With the debate continuing over the standardisation of blue croad batams, & with many club members being against the idea let us know what YOU think.

Other clubs have blue bantams standardised eg. the Australorp club but no large. The debate of we can not standardise the bantam & not a large is one of the main reasons that this discussion continues as members belive that too much foriegn blood will be introduced trying to create a large, thus not keeping our breed pure, which was the sole aim of the club in the first place. Although many bantams seen today have obvious German Langshan in them.

Surely it is the same with all breeds though when trying to produce a new colour, & standardiseation would only be when the club was happy that the large was breeding true, understandably this will take many MANY years. The bantams however, mine now fourth generation are breeding true & in my opinion this year in particular are of good type.

The breed is in decline so anything to help & premote the breed must be good.

The whites have been bred from the blacks so why can we not breed blues too?

Let us know what you think, comments will be printed off & presented at the AGM at Stoneleigh Dec 2008.
