Wiliam & Karen Pimlott (PCGB panel C judge) breeders & exhibitors of Croad Langshans.
I hope that with the help of my site that I can raise the profile of this wonderful breed of poultry. The Croad langshan is a good utility & prolific show bird. Numbers are in decline & the Croad is now on the Rare Breed Survival Trust's watch list. Along with other Croad club members, the club site, myself & others showing our birds, we hope to get the Croad out there & noticed for the fantastic breed that it is.
I have kept Croads for five years and shown for four. In the last four years I have shown home bred birds with great sucess, winning at both the UK's major shows, the Federation Stafford & the PCGB National show. In February 2007 a home bred black pullet took best of breed at the National much to our delight. We have also won many many AOV classes & SF heavy's, & more recently one of our birds was reserve champion at Cheshire County show, all fantastic for us & for the breed.
We keep bantam Croads in all three colours, black, blue & white, although the blues as yet are not standard (the debate continues!!), we also have a few large blacks too. At present we probably have in the region 60 Croads & now have our own bantam breeding lines, blacks & whites & the blues now are also breeding true.
